The 28-year-old actress is a committed vegetarian and although she loves baked treats she won't let any doughy delights pass her lips which have been made from animal products.

She said: "I'm a vegetarian but I have a sweet tooth, so I go to this wonderful bakery in New York called BabyCakes. It makes amazing vegan cakes, which are gluten free and often sugar free, egg free and dairy free. The vegan apple pie is incredible - it's my favourite dish."

At the time, Mike Tyson had been vegan for 8 months. While he was very enthusiastic about the diet and said he felt great (“I get these explosions of energy. I don’t know how long they last, but they’re like explosions. So powerful.”), I’m sure I wasn’t the only one wondering if he would stick to it.

    15 ounces soba noodles
    1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
    1/4 cup rice vinegar (not rice wine vinegar)
    1/3 cup soy sauce
    3 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    1-2 teaspoons minced garlic
    1 pinch cayenne pepper
    2 carrots, grated

Classic Potato Salad with Dijon and Vegetarian Bacon Bits. An all-American homemade potato salad, made with a dijon and vegan mayonnaise sauce and vegetarian bacon bits. It's cholesterol-free!

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, chopped
  • water for boiling potatoes
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing
  • 3/4 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sliced black olives
  • 2 cups celery, diced
  • 1 1/2 red onions, diced
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/3 cup vegetarian bacon bits

Vegenaise - The Best Vegan Mayonnaise

There's really no competition as far as taste goes, in my opinion, amongst vegan egg-free mayonnaise brands. Vegenaise is a world above other available brands.
Vegenaise comes in four varieties: original, grapeseed oil, organic and expeller-pressed. They are all very similar in taste, though my personal favorite is the original. Incidentally, using an egg-free mayonnaise is an easy way to reduce your cholesterol, since traditional mayonnaise is made from eggs.

Black bean vegetarian chili

I have to confess, chili is not my favorite of vegetarian meals, but even I couldn't stop eating this vegetarian and vegan black bean chili, it was just so flavorful! The sweet potatoes and carrots match perfectly with the spiciness of the fresh chili flavor. This is my new favorite vegetarian chili recipe!

With so many people around the world adopting a Vegan lifestyle, it is no wonder that a lot of parents are starting to ensure that their children are raised to eat a Vegan diet as well.  If you find yourself trying to determine whether a Vegan lifestyle is suitable for your children you are certainly not alone.  Each year there are thousands of people who switch to Vegan diets and children are included in this frequently.  I you are completely confused it is best to talk to your doctor but in general most children do quite well with a Vegan diet as long as a few precautions are considered.
